Good points from a worried resident
I would like to raise three extra points.
The provision of the post office services in the shop enables the residents of the council owned bungalows to reach the post office without having to cross the road. Like most elderly people, my mother's peripheral eyesight failed gradually towards the end of her life. For the last 5 years of her life she was able to see well enough to be independent when shopping providing she didn't have to cross a road.
Tourism is an important industry in this area, many of the guests choosing to come to rural areas have an interest in environmental issues and are looking for businesses with low carbon footprints, but if the local post office isn't available for business banking they will have to travel to Carmarthen more often.
As the van will only be in the village at lunchtime, tourism based businesses will struggle to find the 'free' time to use it!
